James Rudolph Taylor, son of the late Flossie Taylor-Brower was born August 5, 1932 in Moore County. Rudolph was married to the Lemerl McDonald Taylor, who precede him in death, as well as five brothers- Paul, Herbert (Plucko), Sam Charles (June Bug) and Willie. Left to cherish his memories from Rudolph & Lemerl’s union, Elizabeth A. Taylor Caver. Granddaughter, Michele Lemerl Neal; three great granddaughters, Precious Lemerl Smith, Nadia and Savannah Neal all from Woodridge, Illinois. One sister Mary Kelly of Carthage and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves many longtime friends and special friend Juanita Goins.
He joined John Hall Presbyterian Church at an early age and remained a lifelong member. He served on the Deacon Board, Trustee Board and Choir. He utilized his maintenance skills to serve the church as well as the overseer of the church burial site.
Rudolph received his high school education at Pinckney High School in Carthage, North Carolina, He worked at Marion Furniture Company until they closed. For many years thereafter, he was self-employed as a refrigeration/appliance technician. His small business reputation gave way to his employment with the Moore County Maintenance Department, Carthage, North Carolina until retirement. The family is standing on the promise that for everything there is a season, and their loved one is absent from the earth and in the presence of the Lord.
