Steven Warren Belt Obituary

Steven Belt Retired Army Captain Steven Warren Belt of Cameron, NC died on April 24, 2019. Cpt. Belt was the son of Warren and Fern Belt of Sturgis, MI.


He is survived by his wife Sharon, son John (Jennifer), brother David, sister Pamela, two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


Captain Belt severed honorably for 21 years. His duty stations included postings as an Armor Company Commander in Germany and stints with the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and 18th Airborne Corp Command. He saw combat duty in Nicaragua, Grenada, and Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. After retiring from the Army, Captain Belt served as a public school teacher for Cumberland County Schools. Here he taught high school History and Spanish over a 16-year span.


Captain Belt will be interred at the Sandhills Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Bragg. A memorial service will be held on May 31, 2019 at 10 am.
