Reginald Wharton

Reginald Aaron Wharton Sr. was born December 11, 1943 in Canal Zone Republic of Panama to the late Gascorine and Unicy Inez Wharton.
Reginald “Reggie” gained heavenly wings December 23, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two siblings.

Reginald came to the states in the mid-1960s with the minor league baseball team The San Francisco Giants. He continued to enjoy playing baseball up until his retirement. In North Carolina he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren until his health began to decline.

He worked for Honeywell and Schumacher for many years only to later retire from the Defense Department in December of 2005, where he and his wife made North Carolina home.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mary Wharton of 49 years; two children: Lisa (Roscoe) of the home and Aaron (Nina) of Pittsboro, NC; two sisters: Marion Petty of Florida and Naome Odom of Texas; a brother Darcett Wharton of Republic of Panama; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three godsons; two goddaughters; lots of bonus grandchildren and a ho
