Obituary
Mrs. Gussie Brown McNair, of Carthage, transitioned on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Duke Hospice House, in Durham, NC.
A 1941 graduate of Pickney High School in Carthage, NC, she received her first Bachelor's degree from Barber Scotia Presbyterian College in Concord, NC, and a second Bachelor's degree in Library Science from Fayetteville State University. She liked her classroom, but loved her library. Mrs. McNair retired in 1984 after a 32-year career in education with the Moore County School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Lacy Brown and Isabel Kennedy Brown; six brothers and seven sisters; special nieces, nephews and cousins. In life, her gift was her unfailing love and support for her family and church. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and former students.
