Dr. Linda Spooner passed peacefully on July 12, 2018, after an extended illness. She was the only daughter of Frank T. Greer and Mary Hasty Greer, and a member of the Hasty family of Southern Pines.

Dr. Spooner began her career as an attorney working in real estate and corporate law in Washington, DC. After over 20 years of practicing law, she then chose to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a physician. Dr. Spooner attended Howard University College of Medicine, and went on to work at George Washington University Hospital as well as her own private practice. In recent years, Dr. Spooner lived in North Carolina while working with Cape Fear Valley Health System, where she practiced and held several administrative positions.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law. Funeral services were held at Episcopal Church of the Atonement in Washington, DC. She is being laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1pm.
