Chester Louis Dowdy, was born January 25, 1932 to the late William Dowdy and Karen Baldwin. He departed this life on November 4, 2018 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
He attended Southern Pines School on May Street. At age 14 he moved to New York, where he was a supervisor in NuPerry Chemicals and Realty.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Lille Dowdy; two daughters: Rosie Williams, Deebee Abraham; four stepchildren: Charles Wall, and Sammy Wall of Aberdeen, Stephine Wall of West End and Kathy Wall of Southern Pines; three special cousins; four sisters-in-law; two brothers- in-law; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
