On Tuesday evening before sunset an Angel graced the earth with its presence to carry Sylvia Lockett home.
Sylvia E. Lockett was born to the late Frank & Mimie Brown on January 8, 1939 in Moore County, NC.
She attended the public school in Moore County and worked at Spring Mills in Biscoe and later she moved to Louisville, KY, where she retired from Central State Hospital.
She was a dedicated member at New Zion United Church of God in Louisville, KY.
After moving back to North Carolina, she joined St. Peters Deliverance Church in Southern Pines. She was a member of St. Peters Choir.
She leaves her memories to a son, Kenneth Lockett of Louisville, KY; daughter, Gwendolyn Lockett of Southern Pines, NC; three sisters: Frances Ewings of Candor, NC; Ollie J. Brown of Eagle Springs, NC and Dorothy Person of Robbins, NC; two sisters-in-law: Nettie Bradley of Thomasville, GA and Helen Linder of Aberdeen, NC; three grandchildren: Rev. Carlous Keene Jr. (Tia), Sade Perry (Laquan), and Carlisa Weatherspoon (Bryan); ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
