Both of which he served Faithfully. He was a devoted Father, Son, Brother, and Uncle. He loved his Family very much and cherished Family time whenever it was available.
Sherry was a man of few words but when he did speak, he was definitely on point in a conversation. Known to many as "Sherwood", or Wood, and he would answer to either one. Sherry was a avid outdoors man...you could ride by his home in Carthage and see him waving at every car that came by. He would have a smile on his face and his laughter was priceless. Sherry loved to hunt and fish. He was an all-around guy when it came to sports. He played on the Blue Jays baseball team of which he was a pitcher. His favorite teams were the Yankees, North Carolina Tarheels, & Pittsburgh Steelers...which he would say that BIG-BEN was the MAN! He also loved Racing...Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver. He will truly be missed.
Proceeding him in death were his brothers...Jackie Thompson, & Harry Alston, & sister Virginia Frye.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Marva Austin of the home. A daughter Simone Alston, and a son Douglas Alston both of Asheboro, NC. One granddaughter Kyasia Alston, of Asheboro, NC.
