Mr. Alvis Eugene McKinnon was born May 10, 1959 to Alice P. McKinnon and the late Warren McKinnon, in Southern Pines, NC. He entered into eternal rest September 18, 2018, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst, NC
Alvis graduated from Union Pines High School, Cameron, NC, in 1978. He was employed at Proctor-Silex for 37 years before his health began to fail.
Prior to his health issues, he enjoyed fishing, running. Weight-lifting, Chinese food and being with family and friends. He was a man with a big heart and smile, but also a man of few words.
Alvis attended Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and occasionally visited Works For Christ Christian Center, Sanford, NC.
His loving memories will be cherished by: His mother Alice P. McKinnon, Cameron, NC. Two sons: Alvis “Red” Stroman, of Orange, VA; Altwan McKinnon, of Broadway, NC; Two daughters: Crystal Patterson, of Southern Pines, NC and Martisha Wilborn (Morrell), of Carthage, NC. One grandson: Julien Jamar Stroman, of Warrenton, VA. One brother: Wallace McKinnon of Cameron, NC- Four sisters: Jeanette Faulk, of Southern Pines, NC, Robin McKinnon of Cameron, NC, Norma Bernard (Joseph) of Sanford, NC and Kelly Womack (Jerome) of Broadway, NC. Three nieces: Katina Faulk, Tonyetta Kimble (Adam), and TaShawn McKinnon; one nephew Shannon McKinnon (Kathleen). Four great nieces: Quinden Wyatt, Yuri Vance, Yana Allen, and Yasni Murchison. Three great nephews: Daquan Wyatt, Nori Allen, and Michael Allen and a host of cousins and friends,
